At CES 2025, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stepped onto the stage to showcase a slew of new products, partnerships, and bold promises. In a packed Las Vegas arena, Huang laid out his company’s vision for transforming everything from gaming and personal computing to robotics and autonomous vehicles.
Here’s a look at the most electrifying highlights from his keynote.
New GPUs and AI Chips: A Leap for Gaming and Creators
Nvidia is doubling down on its gaming roots with the GeForce RTX 50 Series, a new lineup of desktop and laptop GPUs designed for gamers, developers, and creators. Powered by Nvidia’s next-gen AI chip, Blackwell, these GPUs promise a leap in AI-driven rendering.
“Blackwell, the engine of AI, has arrived,” Huang proclaimed, calling it “the most significant graphics innovation since programmable shading was introduced 25 years ago.” With Blackwell now in full production, the flagship RTX 5090 will hit shelves in January for $1,999, while the more affordable RTX 5070 will follow in February at $549.
Cosmos AI Models: The Future of Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles
Huang introduced a new set of AI models dubbed Cosmos, designed to generate ultra-realistic video at a fraction of the cost of traditional training methods. These models, powered by Nvidia’s Omniverse — its advanced physics simulation platform — will be key in training robots and autonomous systems without the need for expensive real-world data collection, like road-test vehicles or human trainers.
Nvidia’s partnerships are equally ambitious. A new collaboration with Toyota will fuel the development of next-gen autonomous vehicles, while the company’s alliance with Aurora will power the autonomous shipping trucks rolling out commercially in April 2025. Nvidia’s DriveOS operating system will power these self-driving vehicles, with Huang predicting this could spark a multi-trillion-dollar robotics industry.
Project DIGITS: AI at Your Desk
Finally, Huang unveiled Project DIGITS — a $3,000 desktop machine aimed at developers and AI enthusiasts eager to experiment with next-gen AI models. Set for a May release, Project DIGITS runs on the new Blackwell chip, and will be capable of processing AI models with up to 200 billion parameters — the kind of power that once required cloud infrastructure now available on your desk.
